If Opportunity Doesn’t Knock, Build Your Own Door #Career

Elon Musk, Opportunity

A famous motivational speaker once said, “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build your own door”

Most people complain of lack of opportunities. Some attribute it to lack of money. Some will say it’s due to their parental background. To some people, they claim it’s due to their educational qualification. If only they were graduates with a Bachelors or Masters Degree, they would have been very successful and achieve their dreams.

All the above reasons are good reasons for living a mediocre life, but are not perfect reasons.

Listen to Ralph Waldo Emerson that “What lies before us and behind us are tiny matters compared to what lies inside of us”.

The truth is God has deposited all the gifts and talents that you need to succeed in life. The earlier you realize this, the better for you. The earlier you start making use of your gift and talent, you better your life will be.

As a youth, you are still very strong. You still have enough strength and energy to start and finish any project or assignment.

As for time, you still have time to think, plan and make it in life. God has given you teachers and mentors who are interested in you and one of such is me.

Your past and present knowledge and experiences is an advantage to help you build a better future. Beyond all these, god has given you Jesus Christ. He has given you salvation, grace and other promises in the bible. Therefore, there is no reason to remain a mediocre or why you shouldn’t be successful.

Franklin Roosevelt said“The only limit to our realization of tomorrow dream will be our doubt for today”

Few years ago, I wanted to create an additional source of income in addition to my teaching job, yet it looks as if there is no way out. I decided to start a Computer business, I thought about the huge capital, the cost and logistics. It seems like this is not possible.

I saved my income and bought a laptop and printer and printed proposal letters, sent them to various schools. Fortunately, two schools accepted my proposals and that was how my business started.

So today, “If opportunity doesn’t knock, please build a DOOR” Simply put, create your own opportunity”
